Laura grew up in Calgary, AB. She always wanted to be a vet and some of her fondest childhood memories are playing with a menagerie of critters at her aunt’s horse farm. Laura completed her veterinary degree in 2010 at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and spent her first four years in Vancouver. She returned home to work in Alberta in 2014. Laura has many interests in the veterinary field, but foremost are dermatology, ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery.
Outside of work, Laura has quite a travel addiction, and one of her life goals is to visit 100 countries. She was bitten by the travel bug as a teenager during a school trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Some of her best travel experiences are eating her way around Italy, sleeping in a Buddhist temple in Japan, and standing between tectonic plates in Iceland. When back at home, Laura is quite a bookworm and loves to read and watch movies. She is a busy mom to a young daughter and her fur babies.
