Amanda Layton

I was born in Wales, UK and came to Canada in 1993. Raised three wonderful boys and share my home with 2 hyperactive Border Collies, Link and Cash, 2 Shepherd mixes, Dennis and Maggie and 2 cats, Cadbury and Crunchie. My first pet was a kitty named Timmy who was born in the coal shed at my grandmother's house. He lived to a grand old age of 21 years. I've always had a passion for animals and have been in this business a long time. When I'm not at work, I enjoy working out, hiking and agility training.

I joined Acadia Drive Animal Clinic in April 2015. I love all aspects of Veterinary Medicine but if I had to pick one, it would probably be surgery. After all these years, I still learn something new every day!

What do I love about my job? Who wouldn't enjoy cuddling puppies and kittens all day? Also, I love educating our clients in keeping their pets healthy. My favourite thing about the clinic is that I have the BEST coworkers here at Acadia Drive. We have a lot of FUN doing what we LOVE! Our team ROCKS!!

A fun fact about me is that I have a black belt in karate. I also have a very dry sense of humour and love to make people laugh.
